The Portland Solid Wood Dining Chair (set of 2) is constructed from Acacia solid wood, an exotic lumber known for its bold contrasting wood grain and natural protective qualities. Seat cushions feature full web suspension for hours of dining comfort. Durable 9-bolt grooved corner block consumer RTA construction with under-seat dust covers. Linen-like upholstery material is a soft, tightly woven, yarn-dyed fabric made from 100-percent polyester which is more stain resistant than cotton and linen; knitted backing gives a soft hand and increased durability that exceeds all consumer and commercial fabric wear standards at 100,000 double rubs; neutral tan color is achieved by weaving brown and beige threads. Butcher-block surfaces add visual interest by randomly matching heartwood and sapwood with Acacia’s characteristic knots interspersed throughout. A walnut stain and clear matte lacquer combine for a rich, layered finish that runs as dark as ebony in the knots, medium-dark brown in denser heartwood areas and as light as golden brown in the sapwood-the grain flips depending on lighting and viewing angle especially under halogen or natural light. Wood is kiln dried for added strength. Please keep in mind that natural wood must breathe and is affected by environmental conditions. Expect to see shrinkage or expansion and plank movement over time. These normal occurrences will not affect the structural integrity of the piece. With proper care, this solid wood furniture will last for generations. All components are Acacia solid wood. Covered by a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. Product Dimensions: 19-Inch by 21-Inch by 38-Inch. Weighs 35-pounds. Transitional in design but modern in appearance, the Portland collection adds subtle details and heavy solid wood construction to a Bauhaus-like form. Dining chairs are designed with wide-rung ladder backs, two-way stretchers and a subtle overhang between the top cross and vertical posts.
