ABOUT LAKE CANDLES
Lake Candles established in Kansas City by James and Lainey Lake. Each soy blend candle is hand poured with our proprietary process. The carefully crafted scents are designed to create an intoxicating aroma to make you feel right at home. The wick is 100% cotton to give a clean, smooth burn.
The name Lake Candles was used for the couple’s last name. The A in ‘LAKE’ is a triangle representing the alchemy symbol for fire. The bottom of the packaging represents a topography map of an actual lake, and the pink top represents a sunset sinking over the lake.
MADE IN KC’s STORY
Growing from a pop-up shop with 13 artists, Made in KC now features work from over 200 local artists, designers, and makers. With three stand-alone locations and two partnership locations, Made in KC aims to provide a robust platform for local small businesses to reach customers throughout the Kansas City metro area. With one partnership, we give brands access to five geographically and demographically different locations.
Made in KC curates its products from hundreds of submissions and works to support brands through partnerships, relationships, and resources. We work actively to build our network of vendors and resources so that we can help brands grow their sales, but also build a more sustainable business.
We have many fun projects in the works including gift baskets for large local companies attracting new talent or welcoming new guests to the city we love. This is just one of the ways we hope to provide our brands with more exposure within Kansas City and beyond.
LAKE HOUSE: The lake house candle has a fresh scent, with sweet notes of rhubarb and strawberry melon fig. These scented soy candles create a positive atmosphere and are designed to take you to a familiar and happy place. They are made and sold locally in Kansas City. The carefully crafted scents of our natural soy candles are designed to create an intoxicating aroma to make you feel right at home.
SOY BASED CANDLES: Soy candles are natural and non-toxic. They are made from vegetable oil (soybeans), unlike paraffin candles (the most common candle wax used) which are made from petroleum oil. This means that they do not increase carbon dioxide levels when burned. Soy candles burn longer (50% longer), cleaner (they do not produce a lot of black soot, which can discolor your walls and furniture), and stronger than other candles.
HAND POURED SOY CANDLE: Each soy candle is hand poured with our proprietary process. We do this by using a two-pour process. The first pour fills the jar. Then, because of the properties of wax, there will be some shrinking. When the candle has set, the second pour will occur to fill in the hole caused by the wax shrinking. We scent both pours to ensure that the romantic aroma lasts for the lifetime of the candle!
